Peter Farkas M.D. is an orthopaedic surgeon and rehabilitation specialist, head of Bone and Joint Infection Rehabilitation Department, National Institute for Medical Rehabilitation, Budapest.
His special field of interest the diabetic foot surgical and orthotic treatment; the rehabilitation after periprosthetic infections. He make more than 200 operations and 400 inpatient care in a year. He is an advisor of Hungarian National Health Insurance. He was a member of working-group the National Prevention Program of the Diabetic Foot in Hungary. He is a member of PRM Committee of the National Medical College. He was the president of ISPO Hungary for 6 years. He was the scientific committee member of the Central-European regional ISPO conference two times. Dr. Farkas is involved the training program for medical residents at Semmelweis University Budapest, at University of Debrecen and for podiatrists and diabetic assistants at University of Miskolc. The number of publications as autor or co-autor are 29, the number of book chapters are 8 and he gave more than 100 presentations.
